Jeep Grand Cherokee In Running For World Car Awards

The ten vehicles in the running for the 2011 World Car Awards are overwhelmingly German this year, with a single American entrant: the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which beat the Ford Explorer, Chevy Volt, and Dodge Durango to win its position.

Every major German automaker is represented with Audi having the A1 and A8, BMW the X3 and 5, Mercedes having the SLS, and Porsche having the Cayenne. Europe is also represented by Jaguar (XJ) and Volvo (S/V 60), while all Asian automakers are represented solely by the LEAF, which was apparently judged more worthy than the Volt.
The 66 jurors are journalists from across the world. The top three finalists will be announced in Geneva on March 1, and the final World Car of the Year will be announced in New York. Source - Allpar.com
