FRONT RECOVERY HOOKS
2012 onward
The 2012 Model year was released with the Euro front bumpers rather than the US style that the 2011 had with twin recovery hooks fitted.. The Euro front bumpers do not have a rated recovery hook that is suitable for any type of vehicle recovery such as winching or snatch strap pull.
The factory screw in hook is not suitable for vehicle recovery and is only designed to secure the vehicle when shipping or for a light tow. The screw in hook should never be used for recovery.

Never use the screw in hook for recovery - it is not rated for recovery use.

After many complaints from customers Jeep Australia had a recovery hook made here in Australia which is sold as a genuine Mopar recovery hook and is rated to 4,800 KG which is stronger than most other recovery hooks on the market. This hook is mounted to the passenger side of the front bumper valance and sits behind the existing front facia panel. The drivers side has the screw in mount for the non rated hook. 

You must fit this hook to your 2012 on WK2 Australian Spec before you go wheeling.

Your local Jeep dealer can supply and fit if required the Mopar recovery hook.
You should not go into 4WD terrain without a suitable recovery hook on your Jeep because if you get stuck your car can not be recovered with out causing damage to your vehicle.
