Jeep Sales Success Brings Australian Supply Problems

Huge month over month sales success in the USA is causing even more supply issues for Australian Jeep buyers. Sales of all Chrysler Jeep and Dodge models have been considerably higher than 1st Quarter 2010 and March 2010 with Jeep Grand Cherokee reporting a massive 64.1% increase over 2010 sales for March 2011.

Sales results for Q1 2011 were
  • Compass up 49.9%
  • Patriot up a wopping 73%
  • Wrangler up 18%
  • Liberty (KK Cherokee here) up 41%
  • Grand Cherokee a huge 64.1%
Along with supply shortages of the Pentastar 3.6L engine, paint supply restrictions, and a shortage of 2.8L Turbo Diesel engines Australian Buyers are having to wait for lengthy delivery times for Wrangler and Grand Cherokee vehicles.

Australian Jeep sales are up also and the demand for the new 2011 Grand Cherokee is already causing dealers to quote 4 months or longer delivery times for most models as nearly all vehicles in Australia or on the water are sold. Be prepared for a long wait on some of the more popular Jeeps, or grab a vehicle that is in stock if you can find one!
