Jeep Revise Tow Ratings For 2011 Grand Cherokee

Due to a production restriction in the USA, Chrysler Australia have had to down grade Limited 5.7L Hemi V8 models to 2268 KG. The availability of the Heavy Duty Cooling (NMC) and the Trailer Tow Prep Group (AHC) has caused the change due to shortages of components for export models. The Overland and Diesel models will not be effected and will still come with NMC and AHC.
This is a concern for the many buyers who have already ordered vehicles expecting to have the 3,500 KG rating at time of placing their order. The changes effect vehicles built from February/March production which means these vehicles are already built and on the water.

Buyers effected should contact their dealer and confirm if their new Jeep has the NMC and AHC groups fitted as the ability to tow loads heavier than 2268 KG is a real legal and insurance concern.
