Chrysler Australia Announces Headquarters Relocation
The Chrysler Australia Group (CAG), which includes the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands, is delighted to announce the relocation of the company’s Australian headquarters to expansive new offices located in Port Melbourne, Victoria.
According to Clyde Campbell, managing director of CAG, the move comes hot on the heels of one of the most successful years in the group’s Australian history.
“The Chrysler group had an exceptional year in 2011, with a new, broader sales base, increasingly satisfied customers, an outstanding dealer network, impressive new products, and the recruitment of high performance staff.
“The time is right for us to make our presence felt in the Australian market, and the new Port Melbourne headquarters are designed to ratchet up our efficiency so we can better service our customer base and dealer network,” Campbell said.
The new CAG headquarters are designed as a dream destination for any automotive importer. As well as extensive office space, the new facility will include a large auditorium for conferences and meetings, and a purpose-built showroom for the group’s broad range of vehicles. In the warehouse area, a comprehensive parts and accessories operation will be housed alongside service bays complete with hoists, several training rooms, and an engineering research and development area. Employees will be keen to get to work, with the provision of free on-site parking, funky dining areas and a fully equipped – and free – gymnasium.
The Chrysler Australia Group has based its operations for the past 18 months out of the Iveco offices in South Dandenong – an arrangement for which Campbell says the company is very grateful.
“The Iveco group has been extremely accommodating during our stay, and we have established good relationships, and recognised potential synergies in our service and facilities operations.
“I really can’t thank Danilo Salvatore Matelli, the chief executive officer of Iveco, enough for his hospitality,” Campbell said.
The Chrysler Australia group will officially move into the new premises in the second quarter of 2012.
