Chrysler Australia has told dealers not to expect to see any 2012 models released for sale to the public until early 2012. The models effected are the 2012 Jeep Wrangler with the new Pentastar V6, the 2WD version of the Jeep Patriot, the relaunched Jeep Compass as well as the 2012 Dodge Journey which also gets the Pentastar V6.
Sources say that Chrysler is holding back supplies until current stocks of these models are sold especially the 2011 Wrangler and Journey. Chrysler Australia apparently have heaps of 2011 petrol wranglers powered by the ancient 3.8L V6 and this is reflected in some of the dealer specials that are around, 2 door Wrangler Sport with renegade Pack are being flogged on the internet for as low as $33990 Drive away. Dealers don't want any of the 2011 vehicles in stock when the Pentastar equipped models are launched so it is a great time to pick up a bargain on the run out models.
The 2012 Wranglers will all come with Connectivity Group (Bluetooth and EVIC) and Side Air Bags and WILL HAVE DUAL TOP ROOF after all.
The new Pentastar V6 equipped Wrangler has had great reviews in the USA and is expected to further increase demand in Australia for the petrol model with more grunt and huge improvements in efficiency and fuel range.
