Jeep Australia Considering Importing Luxury Wrangler

Jeep Australia are considering importing an Australian version of the Luxury Wrangler Sahara. The word is it may have Leather, Body Colour Roof and Flairs as well as 18" Wheels. They wont be able to call it a Sahara as Toyota already use it so another name is being considered. The 2012 Wrangler with the new Pentastar 3.6L V6 will be arriving early 2012. The Luxury model will come later once the go buttons are pushed.

Jeep are introducing quite a few upgrades to models next year with 2 Wheel drive versions of Patriot, Compass and Cherokee already confirmed. There is also a possibility they will return a diesel variant to the Compass range. Those buyers who like the Wrangler 2 Door with a Diesel will have to order it especially as Jeep wont be bringing any of these in the future. Apparently not enough get sold to make it worth while.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Leads Australian Sales Record

Chrysler Australia are reporting a huge 3rd quarter result for 2011 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the star of the show leading its segment in the Luxury SUV market by a large margin in September with 445 units sold. Sales of Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge vehicles doubled in September when compared with 2010 (1435 units vs. 710) and YTD sales are up a sizeable 30 per cent.
The new Jeep has been boosted with the recent arrival of the Turbo Diesel variants but stocks are sold out until early next year for some variants. The top specification Overland model is being quoted by dealers for March and April delivery if ordered now. The new Diesel has been getting great reviews from the media. Even the "anti-Jeep" biased media are finding it difficult to criticise the new Jeep. Some even make statements like "I find it hard to accept such a quality car can come from Jeep". -The Age. Others seem to make comments that give the impression that they did not even drive the car, it makes you wonder if Motoring Journalists are as impartial as they make themselves out to be.

Australian Release Of 2012 Jeep Models Delayed UPDATED

Chrysler Australia has told dealers not to expect to see any 2012 models released for sale to the public until early 2012. The models effected are the 2012 Jeep Wrangler with the new Pentastar V6, the 2WD version of the Jeep Patriot, the relaunched Jeep Compass as well as the 2012 Dodge Journey which also gets the Pentastar V6.
Sources say that Chrysler is holding back supplies until current stocks of these models are sold especially the 2011 Wrangler and Journey. Chrysler Australia apparently have heaps of 2011 petrol wranglers powered by the ancient 3.8L V6 and this is reflected in some of the dealer specials that are around, 2 door Wrangler Sport with renegade Pack are being flogged on the internet for as low as $33990 Drive away. Dealers don't want any of the 2011 vehicles in stock when the Pentastar equipped models are launched so it is a great time to pick up a bargain on the run out models.
The 2012 Wranglers will all come with Connectivity Group (Bluetooth and EVIC) and Side Air Bags and WILL HAVE DUAL TOP ROOF after all.
The new Pentastar V6 equipped Wrangler has had great reviews in the USA and is expected to further increase demand in Australia for the petrol model with more grunt and huge improvements in efficiency and fuel range.

UPDATED MOPAR NUDGE BAR FOR WK2 GRAND CHEROKEE RELEASED

A new version of the Mopar Nudge Bar for the 2011 Grand Cherokee has been released with a new fitting kit.
This is most likely in response to our article about the old version using the recovery hooks as a mounting point making the hooks useless if the vehicle was being used in a recovery. We have not yet seen the new version but our sources are expecting that the new version will resolve this issue. More
