LEAVE NO TRACE MESSAGE IS VITAL FOR OUR FUTURE ACCESS

It is vital that we all follow the "Leave No Trace" philosophy to ensure we have access to our recreational areas in the future. If we continue to mess up by damaging tracks, leaving rubbish and refuse behind and not caring for our parks and forests we will not continue to have access to our bush trails.

Tread Lightly and Leave No Trace should become the Jeepers mantra.
Look at how NSW and Qld tracks have been and continue to be locked up or are under threat. Lucky Victorians continue to have greater access because of the hard work of  Four Wheel Drive Victoria and the responsible behaviour of most 4WD Club members. As more and more 4WD's are sold Victorian tracks are also becoming more under threat due to misuse and abuse by irresponsible 4 Wheelers and it is up to all responsible 4 wheel drivers to set an example to others by spreading the Tread Lightly and Leave No Trace message.
As responsible Jeepers it is up to you to set a responsible example to others.

Booming Grand Cherokee Sales Cause Stock Shortages In Australia

The huge success of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Australia is causing stock shortages across the range. The Jeep plant in the US is at full stretch and demand is again outstripping supply. Many dealers have run dry of Diesel models and it will be many months before new supplies start to come through.

The Diesel engined models are now on sale in the US and success there is causing stress here for buyers. If you can find a new Diesel Jeep on a dealers lot buy it before you miss out.

BABY JEEP BREAKS COVER IN GENEVA

The much speculated baby Jeep SUV has broken cover at the Geneva Motor Show and it is getting rave reviews. The new Jeep is designed in USA but built by Fiat in Italy and is based on the Fiat 500L so it will suit the narrow roads of Europe and large cities around the world.
Looking quite cute it will appeal to a whole new lifestyle market for Jeep and will have huge appeal to urban warriors with a hankering for something different to the usual "Japorean " mould.
Shown for the first time at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, Jeep pulled in Jeep Chief Mike Manly to present the new Jeep Renegade to the motoring media. More details will come soon but it appears that Jeep have a 2WD, AWD and a off road capable Trailhawk version. Using Fiat running gear and drivelines it should be well priced and packaged.

The new Jeep broke cover yesterday with some media outlets ignoring the Jeep media embargo and releasing photos on the internet prior to official launch. This is one of the most important releases for Jeep and certainly looks like a winner. We have no confirmation if it will come to Australia but if it does it should be a hit.

UNLOCK AUSTRALIA CAMPAIGN GROWS

Unlock Australia (ULA) is a not for profit company dedicated to opening up public lands and waterways for outdoor recreation.
ULA was formed to fight the extreme green mind-set of National Parks and so called 'conservationists' who believe the bush is best protected by locking people out. As bush lovers and users, we know this to be fundamentally wrong. Most of our public lands are suffering from a total lack of practical management as displayed by the rapid growth in feral animals (cats and pigs are destroying Australia's delicate flora and fauna) and the influx of non-native weeds and vegetation.

We're also very concerned with the 'privatisation' of public lands which consistently sees access barred to all but a few elite groups. As Australians, the bush, the beaches and the waterways belong to all of us. This is our birthright.

All New 2014 Cherokee Sales Boom In US

The All New KL Cherokee looks to be proving very popular in the first 2 months of sales in the USA.
After initially being delayed while Jeep engineers insisted on further quality checks and adjustments before release to dealers the Cherokee finally hit US Dealers in late October.
Achieving over 10,000 sales in it's first full month of sales in November and following up with over 15,000 in December giving the new model a great start with 25,000 sold in just 2 months.

Proving the traditionalists Cherokee enthusiast to be wrong the all new model was initially shunned for it's radical styling change from more traditional Cherokee styles. It has been a huge hit already with a strong future in the tough US market.
The new Jeep fits into the popular Jeep range between the smaller Patriot and Compass models and the award winning Grand Cherokee and will come with a 9 speed automatic and new petrol and turbo diesel engines.
The new Jeep Cherokee is due to arrive in Australia in the second Quarter of 2014.

Next Wrangler To Keep It's Core Values - But Major Upgrade

At the Opening of the 2014 Detroit Auto Show CEO of Fiat Chrysler Sergio Marchionne has declared that the next Wrangler will retain it's traditional core 4WD features but will receive a major overhaul of power trains and loose some weight to improve economy.
"We know we need to update the architecture. We need to take weight out," he saidThe plans for the next generation Wrangler are up for approval in the next 10 weeks he said.
Jeep enthusiast circles are concerned that the next Wrangler may get independent suspension which would mean a less capable vehicle than the current sold axle JK model.
The current Wrangler setup suits the 4X4 enthusiast and adventurers who use the Wrangler in extreme terrain and arduous conditions around the world.
Marchionne has stated that Jeeps biggest problem with Wrangler production is that is at full capacity at the Toledo plant and they are committed to building the iconic Jeep model in the US. Wrangler sales rose another 10% in north America last year and markets are very strong in export countries such as Australia also.source Autonews
