Luxury Wrangler Confirmed For Australia

As we have previously reported Australia is to get the Sahara (US) specification Wrangler and we can confirm it will be called Wrangler Overland in Australia. (Toyota already use the Sahara name in Australia) It will be available in Australian dealers very soon and will be in both 2 door and 4 door versions.

The Wrangler Overland will only be available in 3.6L Pentastar V6 Petrol Automatic driveline (No Diesel and no manual) and will be fitted out with colour coded roof and flairs, leather trim with heated front seats, unique styled alloy wheels and GPS Navigation U-connect audio.
Dealers already have all the information and prices and will be similarly priced to the rarely seen Rubicon model.

Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition For US Market.

But will we see it here in Australia?
To celebrate the 10th year of producing the Wrangler Rubicon Jeep in the USA have announced they will build a 10th anniversary Edition of this iconic vehicle.

But the big question is will we see it come to Australia?
We doubt that it will make it here when you consider the existing long delays in production of Rubicon for Australia there would be some mighty angry purchasers who are still waiting for Rubicon's that were ordered early this year (2012).. We have heard of some buyers who are still waiting for vehicles that were ordered as far back as February 2012 and are not going to see there new Jeep arrive until 2013. So if Jeep made a batch of 10th anniversary models for Australia there would be some pretty pissed off Jeepers here.
Fiat Chrysler Australia still can not explain why we don't get enough production of Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. If you check out some of the American Jeep forums there is no mention of shortages or delays in delivery times for them which means there is another reason we don't get many.
So if you are keen for a Rubicon expect a long wait for your car to arrive.
